The Community Cashback Fund is funded through the Police Property Act Fund. The Fund uses money generated from seized and unclaimed property that cannot be returned to its owner, reinvesting those funds into local projects that help make Hertfordshire safer.
The Police and Crime Commissioner for Hertfordshire is inviting applications to the Community Cashback Fund.
The Fund provides grants of up to £2,500 to eligible charities, community groups and not-for-profit organisations delivering projects that help make Hertfordshire safer. The Fund supports practical local initiatives that contribute to crime prevention, community safety, victim support and stronger communities across the county.
Funding may support a wide range of activities including:
Examples of projects that may be supported include personal safety initiatives, volunteer-led community safety projects, mentoring schemes, awareness campaigns, youth diversion activities, equipment for community safety projects and initiatives that support vulnerable residents.
The Fund is open to:
Applicants must have a governing document or constitution, a bank account in the organisation's name, and demonstrate a clear benefit to Hertfordshire residents and communities.
Projects must demonstrate a clear community benefit and be delivered for a charitable purpose that benefits Hertfordshire residents.
Organisations may apply for grants of up to £2,500.
Funding is competitive and submission of an application does not guarantee an award. The Commissioner reserves the right to award less than the amount requested.

The Fund will normally operate one or more funding rounds each year. Further details, including application deadlines and decision dates, will be published for each round.
Please note that the application window may close early while we review responses, should we receive a high volume of eligible applications. It may re-open again, should capacity not be reached once the applications have been reviewed.
