Encouraging volunteers to join the Office of Police Crime and Commissioner (OPCC) community DriveSafe scheme was the aim of an event in Letchworth last month.
The DriveSafe programme allows residents to help police tackle speeding in their local area to keep road users and communities safe.
Volunteers are essential to the programme and communities who are concerned about speeding can apply to establish a DriveSafe volunteer group who will monitor traffic at the roadside at the site of concern.
The information event was organised by the North Herts Neighbourhood Policing Team (NPT), alongside the OPCC, on Bedford Road on Tuesday 26 November.
NPT PC Durham said: “It is fantastic to be working with the OPCC going forward to help promote DriveSafe.
“This is a brilliant programme where members of the local community can impact on the use of excess speed in their communities.
“Thank you to all those who attended to speak with officers and see it in action.”
