Funding scheme open to tackle youth violence and exploitation
Proposals to tackle serious violence among younger people are being encouraged by the Office of the Police and Crime Commissioner for Hertfordshire.
Funding for commissioned projects is available from the Community Safety and Criminal Justice Fund, which is welcoming ideas for the next month.
The theme of the current round of bidding centres around tackling serious violence by working with youths using early intervention ideas, and also education schemes for school pupils to prevent them becoming involved in crime.
These areas were decided on following a detailed scoping of themes with partner organisations including local councils, Hertfordshire County Council, Probation, and Hertfordshire Constabulary.
This approach also aligns with the commissioning-based model highlighted within the Commissioner’s Community Safety & Criminal Justice Plan to ensure that funding is targeted around thematic areas and delivers on required outcomes.
Proposals can be submitted by statutory organisations and partnerships up until the deadline of Friday 10th February 2023. Third, voluntary and private sector organisations can be awarded funding provided a statutory organisation or partnership group has submitted or endorsed their proposal.
